Eric Kamm: Pinot Gris Pirate.

Pinot. Pinot Gris! That colour u wonder? Skins of that variety’s grapes are always leaning towards red – yet usually pressed directly. It s the fermentation on skins which is washing out the colour towards this magical “pomegranatey” glow.
Eric’s “Maceration” is beautifully challenging the status quo, it s one of the tastiest, easy to drink, glouglou examples of a skin contact pinot gris I ve had so far. Why? it makes u taste its relation to its prominent parent rather then annoyingly dull white versions. And importantly Eric nailed extraction which makes this wine so incredibly delicate & gentle on ur palate. I m surprised myselves how fast we ve emptied that bottle!
